How to set up WiFi
The Geyser Connect device connects to the Sensor Connect platform so you can view real-time information about the state of your geyser. For example, the current temperature of the water. To do this, Geyser Connect connects via the LTE network, but this can sometimes fail, such as when your local LTE cellphone tower loses power during load shedding and doesn’t have a battery back-up. When this happens, your device loses connectivity and you effectively lose control of your geyser via the Sensor Connect app (albeit only temporarily).
To ensure maximum connectivity, we have added WiFi capability to the Geyser Connect device, and – once you have linked the device to your Sensor Connect account – you are able to connect the device to your home WiFi network. Once connected, the Geyser Connect device will switch between LTE and WiFi, depending on which offers the best connectivity at the time, ensuring you have full control of your geyser whenever you need it.
To connect your Geyser Connect device to your home WiFi network, follow these steps:
How to connect to my WiFi home network?
-
Open the Sensor Connect app and click on your linked Geyser Connect device.
-
The WiFi icon will show as greyed out in the top right corner, next to the LTE icon. This is because, by default, WiFi is deactivated.
-
Click on the WiFi icon to begin the set-up process.
-
The WiFi set-up screen opens in the deactivated state.
-
Toggle the Activate WiFi switch to the ON position.
-
Click on the "Refresh" button to show available networks.
-
Once a list of available WiFi networks is shown, click on your WiFi network to begin authenticating – you will be prompted to enter your WiFi password, so be sure to have that on hand.
Please note that the available WiFi networks shown in the WiFi list are not detected by your smartphone, but rather by the Geyser Connect device itself. This means your geyser may not be within acceptable range of your WiFi router to establish a stable connection. In this case, please move your router closer to the Geyser Connect device or choose a more suitable network.
-
Enter your password and press the Connect button. The Geyser Connect device will then use the entered password to attempt to connect to your home WiFi network. This may take a few moments, and – if unsuccessful – you may need to authenticate your password again.
-
Once successfully connected, you WiFi network will show as Connected, with the WiFi icon now showing as Active (orange)
-
The WiFi icon on the Device List screen will also show that you are successfully connected to either LTE and WiFi.
-
To change WiFi networks, simply follow the above steps again, using the new WiFi network and password, or follow the steps below to disconnect from a WiFi network.
How do I disconnect from my WiFi home network?

For Android:

-
Scroll and find WiFi Networks, then click on it.
-
